Description of Organization:

The mission of the Riverside Park Conservancy is to restore, maintain, and improve Riverside Park in partnership with the City of New York for the enjoyment and benefit of all New Yorkers. We support the preservation of the park’s historic landscape, structures, and monuments, engage the community in active stewardship of the park, and provide a wide range of public programs.

Bnai Mitzvah Projects or Volunteer Opportunities offered by the organization for children ages 11 - 13:

Join Riverside Park at the next open volunteer day! You’ll work with the zone gardeners in various locations throughout the park caring for plantings, mulching, weeding, and much more.

Volunteers do not need a green thumb to help! This is a great way to get your feet wet if you don’t have much (or any) horticulture experience. If you enjoy working with your hands and being outdoors, this is for you!

Community volunteer events take place rain or shine. Volunteer projects are dependent on the season and the needs of the park. Closed toe work shoes required. Do not bring additional bags, as there is really no place to store belongings.

Email: grassroots@riversideparknyc.org or call (212) 870-3070 for more details or to register to volunteer.
