Description of Organization:

DOROT is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to alleviate social isolation and provide concrete services to older adults. For more than four decades, DOROT has been an innovative leader in the fields of aging services and volunteerism. DOROT’s diverse set of programs, as well as our focus on providing intergenerational connections to seniors, has ensured that DOROT’s clients have access to the resources they need to age with dignity, independence, and grace.

Bnai Mitzvah Projects or Volunteer Opportunities offered by the organization for children ages 11 - 13:

Volunteers are the driving force behind DOROT’s programs. Through personal contact with seniors, our volunteers help deliver vital services to the frail elderly and forge loving bonds between the generations. In the process, they reap a rich harvest of friendship, wisdom, and mutual appreciation.

We provide volunteer opportunities for families, teens, bar/bat mitzvah projects, adults and college students.
