Background: For years Areyvut has facilitated a wide array of hands on projects that have been donated to local and Israel based non-profit agencies. Many students are home for the summer and seeking fun and meaningful opportunities in the evening.  We are pleased to now launch a new pop up hands on weekly project called Pizza & Projects that we hope to run one night per week for the next six weeks.

Pizza & Projects: The program is for incoming 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th graders and will take place in the back room at EJ’s. No prior experience is necessary.

While parents are encouraged to stay and dine at EJ’s with their family, Pizza and Projects is geared for students going into 4th, 5th and 6th grade.

Session 1: Recycling for a Cause

  • Are you passionate about the environment?
  • Are you someone who enjoys reusing things?
  • Do you like animals?
  • Do you enjoy helping people?

If you answered yes to any of these questions you will love this project.

During this inaugural session, participants will use recycled materials to create dog toys and headbands. Those with dogs can take a dog toy home for their dog and the rest will be donated to a local shelter. The headbands will be donated to children facing cancer at Tomorrows Children’s Fund at Hackensack University Medical Center. It will be a fun, meaningful and productive hour.

Future Sessions: We anticipate the remaining sessions of the program will meet from 6 to 7 on Tuesday’s and are coordinating all the details and all future sessions will be posted at https://areyvut.org/events/.

Fee: $15 per session and that will include pizza, a drink and the supplies for the project.

The fee will be administered when the program begins. You do not need to register in advance and can simply send your child with cash or a check made payable to Areyvut.

We do not want money to be a barrier to participation. If your child wants to participate and the $15 poses a challenge please contact us at 201-244-6702 or via e-mail at info@areyvut.org and we will make sure your child can participate.

If you want to sponsor and/or underwrite this program please let us know.

Our Host: We are grateful to EJ’s Place for their hospitality, ongoing support and partnership.
