Can You Spare It?
This past Friday, Areyvut completed its second successful year of the H.O.P.E. (Helping Organizations Provide Essentials) Program at Yeshivat Noam in Paramus, NJ. There is a great deal of interest on the part of school administrators, students and parents to have this program return for the 2011-2012 academic year…but we need your help to make that happen!
Join Areyvut at “Can You Spare It?” a fundraiser to benefit the H.O.P.E. Program at Yeshivat Noam.
For the second year in a row Areyvut brought theH.O.P.E. (Helping Organizations Provide Essentials) Program to Yeshivat Noam. A select group of 22 seventh grade students took part in the program.
When all was said and done, the 22 participants allocated $2,200 to two organizations. The Butterflies Program under the auspices of the Valley Health System received $610 to help terminally ill children receiving in-home hospice care. Camp Simcha, a program of Chai Lifeline received $1,590 for this special camp that provides a fun and safe environment for pediatric cancer patients.
In addition, with the help of Connie Wynne fromMummies and Masterpieces, the students created a mural that will hang at Camp Simcha for all to see.
This past Friday, the participants in this unique program invited their parents, school administrators as well as Ms. Rose Marie Ranuro and Mrs. Mindy Tyner from The Butterflies Program and Chai Lifeline respectively, to their end of year program and check presentation ceremony.
It was during this time when the students had the opportunity to reflect on this past year’s program and the impact it had on them. It also afforded the opportunity for their parents to learn about the organizations they chose to fund. It was truly a joyous, fun and memorable occasion, one we hope to share with these students again next year. Thank you to Targum Shlishi for making this program possible.
