Bringing Kindness to Communities One Teen at a Time December 2011

A Kindness a Day

Send a handwritten thank you note to someone who recently went out of their way to help you.

“R. Josiah said: Just as you must not allow matzah to rise, ferment, or sour by lack of promptness in its baking, so you must not let a mitzvah sour by delaying its performance, by letting it wait.

We’re Up to the Challenge…

Are You?

We know it’s that time of the year when you are getting inundated with emails, newsletters and updates asking if you will donate money to an important cause.

As a nonprofit organization struggling in this difficult economic climate, we understand that it can be difficult, frustrating and time consuming (or a combination thereof) to sift through each organization and try to determine where your donation can be utilized most, have the greatest impact and do the most good.

As such, Areyvut is proud to announce that with the help of a generous anonymous donor we have been given the chance to make our programs even better, impact even more people and reach out to communities we’ve never reached through our Challenge Grant and Matching Funds opportunity.  Our generous donor has offered Areyvut $25,000 if we can raise $25,000 from you, our supporters.

How can I help?

From now through December 31 new and increased gifts will be matched 1:1 up to $25,000.  Put in simpler terms, if you gave $50 to Areyvut last year and now you give $100, your increase of $50 will be matched by our anonymous donor, resulting in Areyvut receiving a total of $150 from your donation of $100.  First time donors to Areyvut will have their donations matched in their entirety at any level!

That’s nice, but is there a better way I could help with this?

Yes!  Those donors who commit to giving a gift for three years will be matched 2:1 for the first year of your increased donation!  If you gave Areyvut $500 last year and now commit to a gift of $1,000 for the next three years, the donor will doubly match the first year’s increase!  That’s $4,000!!!  This 2:1 match also applies to new donors to Areyvut who commit to give for three years!!!

How’s my donation going to help Areyvut?

The money we raise from the Challenge Grant and Matching Funds will support Areyvut’s programming including: Teen Philanthropy, A Kindness a Day Calendar, Mitzvah Clowning, National Mitzvah Day, Summer Internship Program and so much more.

I’m in…What now?

Make your donation today!  We only have until December 31 to raise $25,000 from our loyal supporters in order to receive the Challenge Grant and Matching Funds from our donor.  Please make your commitment, donate to Areyvut, inform your family, friends and colleagues and spread the word about this amazing opportunity for our organization.

Wait, you want to give something back to me?

That’s right!  Donors who give $500 or more will receive admission for two to our upcoming Uncle Moishy Concert on New Year’s Day (or to a future Areyvut event taking place in February of March 2012…details to follow).

As 2011 comes to a close we would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a happy, healthy and joyous 2012 and a Happy Chanukah.

Sincerely,

Team Areyvut
