Bringing Kindness to Communities One Teen at a Time December 2010

A Kindness a Day

On Chanukah we add light to the world.  Think of something you can do to brighten someone’s day today.

“And when Yosef came home, they brought him the present which was in their hand into the house, and bowed themselves to him to the earth”
(Genesis 43:17)

Chanukah is upon us.  A time of bringing light to the world, giving unto others and expressing gratitude for the gifts that we are blessed to receive.  It is at this time that we recall the fortune of the Maccabees whose small supply of oil miraculously lasted for eight entire days.

Similar to the Maccabees, Areyvut does a great deal with very little.  Therefore, it is at this time of the year that we have chosen to present you with the top eight ways to hemenorahlp support Areyvut right now.

8. Buy 8 tickets to Areyvut’s Uncle Moishy Concert, taking place at Congregation Beth Sholom in Teaneck, NJ on Dec. 31st.  Better yet, buy 1 Corporate Sponsorship and the 8 tickets are included!

7. Clown around with your friends and family.  Gather up 6 other people (for a total of 7) and have us run a Mitzvah Clown Training and Program for you, complete with an opportunity to bring cheer to thedreidel lives of those who need it most.

6. Donate $6.00 to Areyvut online 6 times a year.  $36.00 can add up quickly!

5. Have us facilitate a Bnai Mitzvah Fair at your school, synagogue, community center, camp or Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration.  Check it out…that’s 5 places!

4. Give the gift of music for Chanukah!  Buy 4 tickets to “Shwekey Back to the Beacon” at the Beacon Theater on Dec. 19th.

3. Help us organize (and donate to) one of our 3 fundraisers throughout the year!

2. Help us offset our travel costs when we attend and present at conferences.  Donate your frequent flyer miles, hotel points or both!

On behalf of Areyvut, I want to thank you for your continued and unwavering support.  Wishing you and your family a Happy Chanukah.  May you and your loved ones continue to bring light to the world.

dreidel

Sincerely,
