IDF Widows & Orphans

IDF Widows and Orphans Organization is a non-profit charity that was established in 1991 as the sole organization recognized by the State of Israel to represent the widows and orphans of Israel’s fallen soldiers. Today we work with over 8,000 women and children who have lost their spouse or parent serving in the IDF and Israel’s security forces. Although it is impossible to fill the void of a lost spouse or parent, IDFWO works tirelessly to be the helping hand of warmth that these families need, by means of a therapeutic network of social, emotional, and educational programs, along with financial aid.

Refanah Healing Holidays

Refanah Healing Holidays is a non-profit organization in Israel that provides holidays for cancer patients -children and adults- giving them the gift of time away to have fun, relax and create unforgettable memories together with their families. We do this through the promotion of community support by enlisting holiday cabin owners throughout the country to donate accommodations and to host cancer patients and their families based on availability, thus utilizing an available resource – vacant holiday units – for the benefit of those that are so in need of a break. Some 28,000 Israelis are diagnosed with cancer each year. The disease often brings financial hardship to the patient and their family as work is disrupted, making it almost impossible to have the means to go on a holiday. There are no other organizations in Israel dedicated solely to providing a short vacation without financial worries in an ordinary holiday environment for cancer patients, together with their family. Many people, particularly kids, want and need a break from the label of “cancer patient” and just want to go on a regular holiday with the people they love.

Save a Child’s Heart

Save a Child’s Heart (SACH) is Israel’s largest humanitarian organization, with a global mission to provide life-saving cardiac care to children of all backgrounds, regardless of race, religion, gender, nationality, or financial status, who suffer from congenital and acquired heart defects and have no access to quality care in their native countries. Altogether, we have saved the lives of over 4,700 children from 57 countries and trained more than 100 international medical personnel, including Tanzania’s first-ever pediatric cardiac surgeon and his team. 50% of the children SACH treats are from Israel’s surrounding Arab countries, the West Bank and Gaza. The rest are from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and South America. SACH is also embarking on its biggest project yet, building an International Pediatric Cardiac Center – the first in the Middle East – at the Wolfson Medical Center, which will serve as a Children’s Hospital.
