The Big Work Lie: “Out of Office”

Posted on March 19, 2014

This article raises the point that nobody is really out of touch anymore even if we receive emails that instantly reply “out of office.”  The author, Richard A. Moran writes that taking breaks truly does help us to perform better once we come back to the office, but only if we are truly disconnecting and taking breaks (especially from our email).  He suggests we add the word “really” to our automatic replies to let everyone know that we are really out and will be back later.
