A Small Act Can Save a Life

Posted on August 4, 2013

Ten years ago on November 9th, 2003 at my daughter’s Simchat Bat not long after she was born, we gave people the opportunity to register with The Gift of Life Foundation.  Ten people swabbed their cheeks and joined the registry to become a potential donor.  I recently got an e-mail from JDS who registered that day and was recently found to be a match.  He literally saved someone’s life.  We learned a valuable lesson.  A seemingly insignificant and small act can have such far-reaching effects.  Imagine the change we could make if we turned every occasion we celebrate into a mitzvah opportunity.
