Tony Schwartz has an amazing article in the Harvard Business Review which focuses on the importance of focus and attention. The bottom line is as follows, “when you’re engaged at work, fully engage, for defined periods of time. When you’re renewing, truly renew. Make waves. Stop living your life in the gray zone.”
Tony Schwartz offers great suggestions in terms of setting your boundaries and being more productive:
1) Do the most important thing first in the morning
2) Establish regular, scheduled times to think more long term, creatively, or strategically
3) Take real and regular vacations
I know that I am definitely going to try and implement some of these ideas into my daily routine and enable myself to have the most productive day possible.
