So You Want Your School to Be More Like Camp

     This great article explores the “we should make our school more like camp” philosophy that has been gaining popularity.  Jeffrey Kress states that we should “remember that the goal is not to have our schools resemble camps on the surface, but rather to capture those elements that are most likely to result in the holistic Jewish growth that we value.”  Bringing Judaism and the elements of emotional, spiritual, and interpersonal growth from camp into school can be a good thing, as long as we don’t lose sight of the goal to keep our children motivated and excited to learn.
