As most everyone has heard American Express is giving back (pun intended on this day before the day before Thanksgiving) to small business and nonprofit organizations this coming Saturday, November 26th.
Make your first purchase of the day on Saturday be to a participating company or organization -we are hoping it is a donation to Areyvut- and you will receive a $25 credit on your credit card statement.
I’m not going to lie…I don’t totally understand how this works, but I do know that there are a few things you need to do in advance and be aware of to make sure your money gets to where you want it to go and to ensure you receive your credit back.
Important
1. Register your card in advance by visiting: https://sync.americanexpress.com/sbs2011/.
(If you don’t register even your greatest of good intentions won’t count…and you also won’t receive your $25 back.)
2. Make sure your FIRST PURCHASE OR DONATION OF THE DAY is going to the company or organization you would like to support. Once again a donation to Areyvut would be nice, that is kind of why we are highlighting this on our blog.
3. While larger purchases and donations are welcome, you will only receive up to $25 back.
