It is sad that many small foundations need to close. These foundations are often overlooked by the media and leaders within the non-profit community and sometimes people do not realize the profound impact they have in their communities, with the agencies they support and in the foundation world. For anyone looking to set up a donor advised fund we recommend the Jewish Communal Fund. They provide excellent service, support the community and if/when I win the lottery I am opening my donor advised fund with them. In the interim, I encourage foundations that unfortunately had to consider setting up a donor advised fund so they can continue to fund, support and impact their community.
