What Does Areyvut Mean to You?

Posted on May 24, 2011

Believe it or not, this is the very question Daniel posed to me right before running out to attend a conference this morning.  Though I first thought it was a rhetorical question, as he closed the door, he asked that I post my response to the blog, in an effort to inspire others to share what Areyvut means to them.
At its most basic level, Areyvut means work for me.  Not in a bad way, but in a practical way.  It is after all where I go each day to work…even if my Dad still doesn’t understand what I do all day.  On a slightly deeper level, it’s the place where I get to be creative and hopefully get others to feel that way too.  It’s where I create innovative, fun and educational programs to help Jewish teens get involved, feel fulfilled and ignite their life long passion for chesed, tzedakah and tikkun olam.
I hope you’ll take the time to share with us – What does Areyvut mean to you?
