Charities Gain Traction in Marathons

Posted on October 22, 2010

The New York Times had an article highlighting how more charities are using marathons and other similar events to raise awareness and money. The article which features
the Blue Card, a fund that assists destitute Holocaust survivors in the United States illustrates the importance of these events for charities and how these events profoundly impact the people they serve. I applaud all the runners who participate in these events and the agencies they support. I would like to mention and recognize Team Lifeline, Ohel and Alyn some of the agencies Areyvut works with who organize and participate in these events. I hope that Areyvut can have a group participate in one of these events soon. Benjy, David, Deena, Jodi, Karen, Michael and Yehuda and the rest of you who run please keep that in mind.

Thanks to Miranda Winer for bringing the article to my attention.
