49 Reasons to Support Areyvut

As we count the 49 days of sefirat haomer from Pesach to Shavuot and focus on rededicating ourselves to Torah and to making the world a better place I am pleased to present you with 49 Reasons to Support Areyvut.

  1. Our mission touches on the core Jewish values of chesed (kindness), tzedakah (charity) and tikkun olam (social action).
  2. From “Make a Difference” Day to Hands-on Chesed Fairs, we create innovative and meaningful programs.
  3. Our newest initiative, Mitzvah Clowning, has enabled us to bring joy and smiles to dozens of seniors.
  4. We create leaders through Jewish teen philanthropy programming and our summer internship program.
  5. By supporting Areyvut, you are also supporting the organizations we work and partner with.
  6. By giving our teens a Jewish context for national and global issues, we enable them to feel ownership over the matters they seek to resolve.
  7. We provide and maintain a free database of nonprofit organizations, enabling students, parents and teachers to research important causes in their community.
  8. Our programs engage people in their community’s needs.
  9. With your support, we can share our knowledge with others at conferences about service learning, Jewish communal issues, Jewish education and more.

  12. We work with Bnai Mitzvah students and their families to make their celebration meaningful through chesed work.
  13. We update our website frequently in order to keep you informed about our programming and projects.

  15. We support Israel by partnering with many Israel based organizations.
  16. We highlight the inspiring work of teenagers through our annual Bnai Mitzvah Video Essay Contest.
  17. The programs we create and facilitate lead teens into action in their community and globally.
  18. Our programs are individualized to meet the needs of each client.
  19. We are team players and partner with numerous organizations to capitalize on our shared resources.
  20. Areyvut’s Summer Internship Program introduces high school and college students to nonprofit work and fosters an atmosphere of acceptance and collaboration.

  27. Areyvut’s “A Kindness a Day” is distributed to hundreds of people worldwide.
  28. By supporting Areyvut, you bring our programming to the mainstream, enabling us to get more involved on a national and global level.
  29. Teens that attend our programs are instilled with a lifelong passion for chesed, tzedakah and tikkun olam.

  31. Through out Mitzvah Clowning program, we provide teenagers and adults with the skills to give the gift that keeps on giving.

  34. Our work crosses the continent…college students from Detroit, Seattle, Memphis San Diego and Atlanta have interned with us.
  35. We make Judaism relevant for children, teenagers and adults of all affiliations.

  38. Areyvut works with Jewish organizations as well as organizations in the broader community.
  39. Areyvut’s e-Newsletter is chock full of information about our programming and ways to make a significant impact on the world.
  40. We highlight local, national and international organizations in need on our website to get others involved with their important work.
  41. Areyvut staff and interns practice what we preach by volunteering year round.
  42. We consult free of charge with Jewish organizations, schools, synagogues and community centers, regardless of affiliation.
  43. As a result of Areyvut’s Summer Internship Program the Jewish communal and educational world have gained highly trained and responsible professionals.
  44. We connect service learning with classroom learning seamlessly.
  45. Your support enables us to underwrite Areyvut programs for schools, synagogues and community centers.
  46. We unite Jews, not only to participate in programs together, but for the common good of the Jewish community and the world at large.
