Throughout this week with the support of the Entertainment Industry Foundation television shows across the networks will highlight volunteerism and community service. They have also created a website to help people find opportunities in their communities and area of interest. While some in the non-profit community question whether agencies have the proper infrastructure to effectively utilize an influx of new volunteers I believe that this is a positive development for the non-profit community. I think that highlighting communal involvement during this challenging economic time will emphasize the importance of the non-profit community and help encourage people to get involved and make a difference.
