September's Teen Scene - Eliana Doft!

Wednesday, September 01, 2010

Each month Areyvut will bring you the story of an ordinary teenager doing extraordinary things.  Their stories are inspiring, their actions are great and their commitment is unparalleled.

Eliana Doft
Eliana is a 12 year old student from New York City.  This fall she will be entering the 7th grade at the Ramaz Middle School.  For Eliana's Bat Mitzvah project, she and the women in her family, (including her mom, sisters, grandmothers, aunts and cousins) went on a chesed mission to Israel for three days.  During her stay in Israel, Eliana and her family visited an AMIT school in Jerusalem to pack mishloach manot packages for Purim, sponsored a Purim party at Bet HaYeled and donated an art therapy room to Bet HaYeled.  In addition to her volunteering, Eliana raised over $45,000 for AMIT.  Eliana continues to blog about her mission.
