December's Teen Scene! Victoria Spero - New York, NY!
Each month Areyvut will bring you the story of an ordinary teenager doing extraordinary things. Their stories are inspiring, their actions are great and their commitment is unparalleled.
Victoria Spero
Victoria Spero is a 12 year old student at the Ramaz Middle School in New York, NY. For her Bat Mitzvah project, Victoria raised money to donate a Shas Talmud to a synagogue in the Jewish area of Harlem in Upper Manhattan. In order to educate those that were interested in contributing funds to this project, Victoria sponsored a guided tour, led by Dr. Jeffrey Gurock, author of "Jewish Harlem, Past and Present", of the older Jewish communities and landmarks of Harlem. To date, Victoria raised $2,864 and continues to be involved with this effort.
