Mike Sabath

Mike, a 7th grade student at the John Jay Middle School, is a 13 year old student residing in Katonah, NY with his family.  In considering the type of mitzvah project he would like to take on, Mike strongly considered his hobby of music.  An avid musician, Mike recorded his own original song entitled "Hand in Hand" which describes how children can make a difference.  Mike recruited 140 children to sing and record the chorus of the song with him.  His song is available for purchase on iTunes as well as through Mike's website, www.hundredsofhands.com.  All of the proceeds raised will be donated to Ability Beyond Disability and the Special Olympics, two organizations that benefit individuals with disabilities.  To date, Mike has raised over $3,800 and hopes to continue raising funds.

In addition to his significant work on behalf of Ability Beyond Disability and the Special Olympics, Mike was awarded Honorable Mention in Areyvut's 2010 Bnai Mitzvah Video Essay Contest.  We have no doubt that he will continue to inspire others and push people to get involved in important causes.  View Mike's winning video essay!
