Leah Fuerst

Leah is a 15 year old, 9th grade student at Ateres who lives in Monsey, NY.  In 2008, when Leah was 12 years old, she sent Mishloach Manot packages (packages for the holiday of Purim) to American soldiers deployed in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait.  This effort then helped jump start KosherTroops, a nonprofit organization that send kosher care packages to all of the deployed Jewish service members for every Yom Tom (holiday).  At the time of her Bat Mitzvah, Leah sent 150 packages to Jewish service men and women.  She still remains closely involved with this project and encourages others involvement in KosherTroops.com.
