Joshua Pattiz

Joshua is a 13 year old student in the 8th grade at the Lindero Canyon Middle School.  He resides in Agoura, CA with his family.  For his Bar Mitzvah project Joshua traveled with his mom to Vietnam on a Study Tour with Heifer International.  They visited the homes of poor farmers who were changing their lives by participating in Heifer's program.  When he returned home, Joshua made a video slideshow to raise awareness and funds to help Heifer fulfill its amazing mission of ending poverty and hunger in the world. Joshua raised over $6,000 and spent two weeks volunteering in Vietnam.

In addition to his important work, Joshua was named Third Place Winner in Areyvut's 2010 Bnai Mitzvah Video Essay Contest.  We have no doubt that Joshua will continue to inspire others, encouraging them to get involved in meaningful service projects.  View Joshua's winning video essay!
