Organization: Reader to Reader
Mission: Reader to Reader, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to expan
ding literacy and learning opportunities for the nation's most chronically underserved and vulnerable communities, including inner-city schools, Native American reservations, and poor rural towns. Reader to Reader accomplishes this primarily through innovative literacy programs, and book and computer donation programs. Organization Description: Reader to Reader is a grassroots literacy organization that uses a team of over 60 volunteers to collect, sort, and ship books to schools, libraries, shelters and outreach programs across the United States.
Fun Fact: We have donated over 4.5 million books to school and libraries across the United States.
How Can I Help?
We love book drives that collect children's books. In addition, we appreciate fundraising that helps us cover the cost of book shipping, and we always welcome new book purchases. We have had many successful Bar and Bat Mitzvah projects.
