Alex Harelick
Alex Harelick is a 15 year old high school student from White Plains, NY and the Third Place Winner in Areyvut's 2009 Bnai Mitzvah Video Essay Contest. Though Alex's Bar Mitzvah took place more than two years ago, he continues to stay actively involved with his project. Alex, an avid swimmer, decided to raise funds for Multiple Sclerosis and cancer research. He continues to swim and has even inspired others to get involved and swim with him. To date, Alex has raised $20,000 for research and has created a website, AlexSwims.com, to enable people to learn more about the causes he supports.
