As Passover approaches, Areyvut is working with Rabbi Jacob S. Rubenstein, Rabbi Jonathan Morgenstern and Baruch Lehrfeld to develop a new answer to the question of Ma Nishtanah. Rather than planning an ordinary boutique in anticipation of the upcoming holiday, the Young Israel of Scarsdale has asked Areyvut to infuse their Pre-Pesach Boutique with an element of tikkun olam. This year’s exposition will include eight booths where participants will be able to donate time and energy to helping others. Activities will include writing letters of support to American and Israeli soldiers, crocheting and knitting scarves and hats for the poor and recording books on tape for the visually impaired and blind. Through these activities, participants have the opportunity to help those in need while adding meaning to their holiday.
