ABRAHAM JOSHUA HESCHEL SCHOOL OF NEW YORK

Areyvut in conjunction with the Teen and Tween Departments of the JCC in Manhattan and the Judaic Studies Programming Director of the Heschel School developed and implemented a program for 5th graders and their parents to discuss ways of incorporating chesed and tzedakah projects into their celebration. We looked at what it means to become a bar/bat mitzvah, exploring options and ideas for what to do before, during, and after their bnai mitzvah to enrich the lives of the students, their families and communities.
