BNAI MITZVAH CONSULTATIONS

One of the central aspects of Areyvut's Bnai Mitzvah programs is helping students and families develop personalized mitzvah projects to incorporate into their celebrations. Throughout the year, Areyvut has consulted with students and families throughout the country including Memphis, TN; San Diego, CA; and Westport, CT.

One of the many projects that Areyvut helped develop was a bike-a-thon for Helen Berman a student at SAR Academy in Riverdale. When Helen approached Areyvut about helping her with her mitzvah project, she did not know what she wanted to do, but expressed an interest in a variety of areas including bike riding. After the consultation, Areyvut created a list of possible projects for Helen. Helen was excited about doing a bike-a-thon and Areyvut helped her with every aspect of planning it. On June 25, 2006 after a few months of planning, the bike-a-thon took place, despite inclement weather over 50 people rode, and helped Helen raise over $13,000 for victims of terror in Israel.

Areyvut continues to hold one-on-one and group consultations with Bnai Mitzvah students who wish to develop projects for their bar/bat mitzvah. If you are interested in arranging an individual or group Bnai Mitzvah consultation please complete the "In-Take Form", call the office at 212-813-2950 or e-mail daniel@areyvut.org.
