In April, Areyvut met with the United Synagogue Youth (USY) High School Leadership group of Beth Hillel Congregation Bnai Emunah in Wilmette, IL to discuss various ways that USY members can make a difference in the synagogue and their communities. Students participated in the “A to Z Game,” in which they used each letter of the alphabet to come up with creative ways to incorporate chesed into their everyday lives. This exercise encouraged participants to think out of the box and allowed them to discover meaningful ways to reach out to others. As a result of the presentation by Areyvut the group is developing programming ideas for the upcoming year. According to youth director Heidi Massey, “the USY'ers are still on fire for what we can do next year!”
